Karen hits the studio, with sax great Richie Cole

December finds Karen in the recording studio, working on an album of tunes by songwriter Carroll Coates. Joining her is a great group of jazz musicians, including saxophonist Richie Cole, who is contributing his musical ideas and talents, an arrangement or two, and no doubt he’ll have some stories to tell about Mr. Coates (Richie and Carroll are good friends). Even better, Carroll himself will be present for the sessions, which means that the story telling could really get carried away, since Carroll has such a way with words. Look for this album to be released in early 2012.
