Marguth's new album is nearing completion

Before moving from Fresno, California up to the San Francisco bay area in 2015, Karen had started work on a new album with pianist and composer David Aus. The plan was to record the album in Fresno with some of their friends in town, and call it “Notes from the ‘No.” The core group of musicians included Aus on piano, bassist Richard Giddens, and drummer Brian Hamada.

Shortly after Karen moved to the bay area however, Brian Hamada tragically passed away. The project went on hold as grief muted the group’s enthusiasm, and day-to-day life carried on.

It wasn’t until 2020 that Karen could pick up the project again. In the meantime, she had done some studio work with producer and recording engineer Dan Feiszli ( https://www.studiorhythm.com/ ) and she asked if he might help her gather-in what had been recorded so far, and help move the project to completion.

As of January 2021, most of the mixing has now been done, and a few other songs with local bay area musicians are scheduled to be recorded and added. The goal is to have the album ready for release by the summer of 2021.
